Based in Nishio, Aichi Prefecture—Japan’s historic matcha heartland—Aoi Seicha has been crafting premium green tea for over a century. Founded by Honda Yasutarō in the early 1900s, the brand began as a reclaimed tea plantation and has grown into a global name for high-quality matcha.

Their signature hollyhock crest reflects deep ties to the Honda samurai family and the Tokugawa era, symbolising a legacy of honour and craft. Aoi Seicha gained national recognition in 1955 by winning Japan’s top Tencha prize and continues to blend tradition with innovation today.
