Hekisuien Matcha – Chiyo no Sakae 30g

Ceremonial Grade Japanese Matcha Powder

Experience the refined elegance of Chiyo no Sakae, a ceremonial-grade matcha crafted by Hekisuien, a venerable tea producer from Uji, Kyoto, with a legacy dating back to 1867.

Flavor Profile

Chiyo no Sakae offers a harmonious balance of medium umami and slight astringency, complemented by nuanced notes of fresh cut grass, hazelnuts, cacao nibs, and a hint of vanilla. Its thin mouthfeel and clean finish make it an ideal choice for both traditional tea ceremonies and modern matcha preparations.

Aroma & Texture

The matcha emits a delicate, smoky aroma with subtle marine undertones, reminiscent of an ocean breeze. Its silky texture is achieved through traditional stone milling, producing particles as fine as 5–9 microns, resulting in a smooth and frothy brew.

Cultivar Composition

A blend of esteemed cultivars including Yabukita, Samihidori, Ujihikari, Ujimidori, Saemidori, and Sayamakaori, harvested in May from the fertile fields of Joyo City, Uji, Kyoto Prefecture.

Versatile Applications

While traditionally prepared as usucha (thin tea), Chiyo no Sakae's balanced flavor profile also makes it suitable for matcha lattes, cold whisked beverages, and culinary creations seeking a touch of authentic Japanese matcha.
