How does it taste?
Nodoka is our Special Spring Matcha that goes on sale every February. With a good balance of umami and sharpness, it goes well with both Japanese and Western sweets. Everyone, both adults and children, will appreciate this matcha during tea breaks.
* The word "Nodoka" reminds the Japanese of warm and peaceful spring time.
How/when to enjoy it?
Each time you drink it, you seem to become a little more kind-hearted. Mornings, break times, after meals. It's difficult to keep yourself from reaching for this tea.
What to enjoy it with?
Breakfast toast. For sweets, go with something soft and airy, like chiffon cake or waffles. It's soothing.
How does Serendipity Australia enjoy it?
When children want to try whisking matcha, this is a good matcha to begin with. The balance of flavours makes it easy to drink right from the start. If it seems a little too strong, it's OK to add a little milk.
Usucha (straight matcha)
- Sift 2 g (about 1 tsp).
- Add 60–70 ml water at 70–80°C.
- Whisk briskly in an M‑motion for 15–20 seconds until glossy and foamy.
- Sip as is, or top with a little hot water to taste.
Matcha Latte
- Sift 2–3 g matcha.
- Whisk with 30–40 ml hot water (70–80°C) to a smooth, thick concentrate.
- Add 150–200 ml hot or iced milk of choice. (Full‑cream and oat both shine.)
- Sweeten with honey, sugar or maple syrup to taste
