About Ippodo
Ippodo is a renowned brand that primarily deals with tea leaves grown in the mountainous regions of Kyoto, Nara, and Shiga Prefectures. The high altitudes result in significant temperature variations throughout the day, which help create tea leaves with a rich aroma and gentle umami flavour.
The charm of Ippodo lies in their expert selection of tea leaves and their skilful blending techniques.
Established over 300 years ago, Ippodo Tea Co. is a speciality Japanese tea store based in Kyoto. Ippodo offers a selection of about 30 different teas, including matcha, gyokuro, sencha, and bancha, each made from carefully selected, high-quality tea leaves to bring out their unique flavours and aromas.
