Marukyu Koyamaen Matcha – Sumire

Premium Culinary Grade Japanese Matcha Powder

Sumire (菫), meaning "violet" in Japanese, is a versatile culinary-grade matcha crafted by Marukyu Koyamaen, a renowned tea producer from Uji, Kyoto, with a legacy spanning over 300 years. This matcha is designed to bring the authentic taste and vibrant colour of traditional matcha to a variety of culinary creations.

Flavour Profile

Sumire offers a balanced flavour with a pleasant astringency and a subtle sweetness, making it ideal for enhancing the taste of various dishes without overpowering them. Its robust character shines through in both sweet and savoury applications.

Aroma & Texture

This matcha exudes a fresh, grassy aroma characteristic of high-quality green tea. The finely ground powder ensures a smooth texture, allowing it to blend seamlessly into recipes, providing both flavour and a vibrant green hue.
